All of our activities are now hosted at Usworth Park in Washington, or within community spaces.
During our first years, our Little Onions lovingly created community gardens within the grounds of several care homes with senior residents, and since 2023 are now based Usworth Park, Washington, where they have created many areas for gardening, environment, sustainability, well=being and social inclusion. As well as being for their enjoyment with play, reading, craft, flowers and wildlife observation areas, the gardens are fully functional with composting, wildlife homes, recycling, plant nurseries, plus fruit and veg patches. Local elderly residents, teenagers, parents, carers and adult volunteers also often join in the activities, sharing their own knowledge and experiences about gardening and beyond with the children and others attending. The Little Onions collect compost and recycling from home and local workplaces to use at activities. Produce and crafts grown and created by the Little Onions are sold at markets and events.
